French Classes for Parents - Alliance Française de Charlottesville

A message from Emily Martin, Director of Alliance Française de Charlottesville (AFC) to Dr. Irani:

I wanted to let you and your community of parents know that we are beginning a post-drop-off class at the AFC for parents who are interested in brushing up on their French to use at home with their children.

Most are ISC parents who want to get back into fluency at home to create a more immersive experience for their children, or to keep the French going after ISC.

I thought this may interest some of your parents as you are hopefully gearing up for full French immersion for the fall; bonne chance for your presentation this April. Or, as we say in French, merde!

Parents can register online<>. The class will meet once a week at the AFC on Wednesdays from 9:30-11am for 6-week sessions. We will start next Wednesday the 3rd.

Likewise, parents are welcome to contact me for more information or to help guide them through registration.

In addition, we are starting an extracurricular group for kids 10- called Le Club. Our first event is at La Maison Française to make crêpes pour La Chandeleur. I will forward you the invitation that you are welcome to share with parents at Meriwether Lewis. It will be a great opportunity to network with other parents interested in language acquisition for their children. You are likewise welcome to attend!

Please let me know if I can elaborate on any of these opportunitites further.

All my best,
