A message from ALBEMARLE COUNTY SCHOOL DIST
Dear Parents and Guardians:
This Friday evening, March 11, between 6 and 9 p.m., there will be a family-friendly fun fair at Western Albemarle High School.
Headlined, “Rock around the Clock,” the program will showcase the talents of many of our students through the Western and Henley Jazz Bands, an arts exhibit and a preview of Western’s spring musical, Grease. “Soda Shop” food for sale will include popcorn, chili dogs and ice cream floats. Kids of all ages can participate in a “50s” costume contest, several hands-on arts and crafts projects, have their face painted or their hair styled in “50s fashion.” Also featured will be a silent auction.
There is no admission charge to be a part of this great opportunity to celebrate the work of our students, provide support for future arts programs and have fun while doing both.
The evening is Artfest in the West’s annual fund-raiser and all proceeds go to support arts programs in western feeder pattern schools. In previous years, this volunteer organization has donated thousands of dollars to support students at Brownsville, Crozet, Meriwether Lewis and Murray Elementary Schools, Henley Middle School and Western Albemarle High.
I hope your schedule will permit you to be a part of this important night.
